For most of his life, Michael has had a passion for physical fitness. Along with various sports such as swimming, skiing, tennis, and running, he had been a long time yoga practitioner. Yoga helped build a solid foundation for treating his chronically tight back and hamstrings, but Pilates actually taught him how to go further and achieve all the goals he had for his body.
Practically from day one, Michael was hooked. 6 years on and Pilates has given him the tools and knowledge to not only improve his core strength and flexibility, but also get him in the best shape of his life. Seeing his passion for it, his mother-in-law (herself a classically trained instructor and studio owner) encouraged him to consider becoming an instructor, and now here we are!
While Michael was getting his Certifications through Providence Pilates,he started teaching beginner students at Total Balance Pilates in Franklin. He's had a blast there these past few years, but now he's super excited to also start at Providence Pilates as an apprentice instructor while finishing his comprehensive studies.
Michael is a Providence resident who holds a BFA in Theater from the University of Rhode Island. Along with his Power Pilates certifications, he is also certified in Balletone Barre. When not instilling a love of Pilates in others, he can probably be found at Providence Waterfire performing as your favorite Gargoyle or White Marble Statue (depending on the night)! His hobbies include spending time with family and friends, exploring the great outdoors, sitting on various beaches, playing video games, and keeping his beloved pup June active and out of trouble.
