Meet Our Wonderful Instructor -- Christine Jenks and the Magic Circle

Sara: Tell us about the Magic Circle. Why do you like the Magic Circle? What added benefit does it provide for a traditional Pilates workout? 

 

Christine: Ah, the Magic Circle. ❤️ As two of my clients said the other night, “It looks simple but it’s so challenging”. This lovely little circle is powerful because it is your “powerhouse”! Exhale, abs in and up, hug the circle and you will discover a deeper connection to your core. With the use of the Magic Circle, you are well on your way to improving your balance and posture along with strengthening your upper and lower body. It also helps with the discovery of any imbalances in the body. These benefits are exactly why I love the magic circle....along with the looks I get from clients when I mention the Magic Circle. 😳

Sara: What are your top five favorite Pilates exercises?

Christine: All of them seem to be my favorites but the top 5 are Up Stretch & Long Spine Massage on the reformer, Rolling Stomach Massage with the roll down bar, Pull Ups on the Wunda chair and of course the Series of 5 with the Magic Circle.😉

 

Sara: I know you danced on a cruise ship. What was the best costume you wore?

Christine: Wow, there were so many amazing costumes and the designers were so creative. I would have to say being a 7 foot jellyfish in the show “Undersea Follies” was quite impressive. I don’t think I’m exaggerating either....3 inch heels with a HUGE headdress ...yup 7 feet.

 

Sara: What exciting adventure are you starting on?

Christine: Thank you for asking Sara. I’m thrilled to say that I have enrolled with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Next to my Pilates Instructor signature, I will be adding Health Coach. I’m eager to be a sponge and absorb as much as I can to be able to help others in additional way. Just like Pilates working from the inside out, nutrition is inside out....including nutrition of community, relationships, work and spirit. #alwayslearning #nevertoolate #staytuned
